Dropz, the true alternative to PET and soft drinks, is committed to sustainable production. That's why we are particularly dedicated to PET recycling. With every bag of dropz, we support the GoReclaim Foundation with the goal of developing a sustainable and transparent PET value chain.

What does that mean in concrete terms?

In 2021, in collaboration with the GoReclaim Foundation and the local collection point rePATRN, over 1 million bottles of so-called "Ocean Bound" plastic were collected around the Atlantic coast of Accra on behalf of dropz and integrated into the recycling process.

My experience as a processor has shown me that informal workers are shortchanged. They have enormous potential, but the low value creation in the country goes hand in hand with a lack of appreciation and prevents their potential from being fully realized. More than 500 billion new plastic bottles are produced every year.

Currently, only 10% of plastic waste is incinerated for energy recovery. If plastic isn't incinerated, it won't decompose.

There are currently 8 million tons of plastic in our oceans. Without countermeasures, this weight will exceed that of fish by 2050.
